Toybox Racing is very excited to announce that the legendary Doug Peterson will drive the #11 Fortech Mini at the 2018 Watkins Glen Mini Festival!

Doug is a multi-time SCCA National Champion, and has extensive history with the Fortech Mini in collaboration with Mike Kearney and Fortech Racing. In addition to building the chassis, Doug has piloted the Fortech Mini to three SCCA National Championship wins in GT5, in 1989, 2003, and 2004, as well as winning the Can-Am Mini Challenge race in 2009.

Doug obtained his racing license in 1971, and has had a long and successful motorsports career, both as a driver and the co-founder of Comptech Racing, which was formed in 1979 with Don Erb. He has raced an extensive list of small bore cars, including the Ford (Escort and Anglia), Minis, Datsun 710, Renalt (LeCar, Alliance, and Encore), Honda CRX, Acura, and others. During the open engine building era in IndyCar, Comptech supplied engines resulted in numerous podium finishes for teams such as Chip Ganassi, Rahal Letterman, and many others. In the 1990’s, the Comptech-prepared Acura driven by Parker Johnstone dominated IMSA competition. Comptech also built Juan Pablo Montoya’s 2000 Indy-500 winning engine, and supplied engines for ten of the thirty-three cars running in that year’s event.

We are deeply honored to have Doug Peterson reunited with the Fortech Mini for this exciting all-Mini race!
